What we mean by health data
In PawMe, health data includes the information you keep about your dog:
- Vaccines, medications, and vet visits.
- Weight entries and trends.
- Walks, including GPS routes and step counts (phone only).
- Documents and photos you attach to health records.
- Activity read from Apple Health or Health Connect, if you enable it.
Not medical advice
Apple Health & Health Connect
Reading from Apple Health (HealthKit) or Android Health Connect is optional and off until you turn it on. When enabled:
- The data is used only to show and log your dog’s activity in PawMe.
- It is never used for advertising or any kind of data mining.
- It is never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
- You can turn the connection off at any time in your device settings.
How health data is protected
Health records are isolated per household at the database level using Row-Level Security — one account can never read another’s data. Documents and photos are stored in private storage and are reachable only through short-lived links after a permission check. Data is encrypted in transit.
When health data is shared
Your controls
- View and edit every health record in the app.
- Export a vet summary when you want one.
- Delete a dog’s profile to remove its health records and files.
- Delete your account to erase your health data and stored files.
Analytics & third parties
We do not send your dog’s health data, GPS routes, or step counts to third-party analytics or advertising services. The only third parties involved are the trusted service providers that host and run the app on our behalf (for example, Supabase for secure storage) — never for their own purposes. Any product analytics we use are limited to non-health, non-identifying signals and only after you consent.
Memorial Mode
If a dog passes, Memorial Mode presents their records as a calm, read-only keepsake. We deliberately remove engagement mechanics — no streaks, nudges, rewards, or counters — and do not use this moment for analytics.
